that so far all government transactions were executed through the District Treasury Office at
Pasighat, about 35 KM from here, which involves a lot of resources and time. Government
employees and the general public had to travel to Pasighat for withdrawal of salaries and
other financial transactions. Saying that a new feather has been added today Ering expressed
hope that establishment of the new Sub-treasury office would cover a vast area under Ruksin subdivision benefitting immensely the local public and government officials with its effective and prompt services in coming days.
DC Tayi Taggu said that the Accounts and Treasury plays a prominent role in the treasury
administration. Treasury officials at all levels were the vital links in the government’s
delivery system and their efficiency and competence would enhance the government’s overall performance. Sub-Treasury Office at Ruksin was created to ensure strict compliance of financial rules and procedures relating to all government transactions in the subdivision.
Independent treasury functioning assumed much significance with the growing need for more financial control over the increasing government transactions involving huge public
expenditure. Among others Ruksin ADC Tajing Jonnom and ZPM Aruni Jamoh also spoke and extended their thanks and gratitude to the MLA Ninong Ering and the Director Accounts and Treasury in particular for their initiative and the state government as a whole for granting the STO at Ruksin
